This is one of the most remarkable photographs of a submarine that has yet been obtained. It is taken looking aft from the conning tower of a British submarine. The boat is travelling down the side of an enormous wave. The pipes see[?] the engine exhaust' pipes. Theropes-end across the casing is, a lashing for securing the gangway plank which was smashed and torn away by the [?] of the waves. The camera was filled three time's with Water while the picture was being taken.
