  3. TODAY (AND YESTERDAY) ON PEAK DOWNS

    It is just a year since a decision was made to grow grain sorghum on Peak Downs, Capella. In that period over 30,000 acres were ploughed and planted. Today the grain crop is ripening to a promising harvest and will be taken off about the end of May. It is proposed to plant 100,000 acres for the 1949-50 crop. The picture shows grain sorghum stretching almost to Peak Range, and the inset the same locality as it looked a year ago. ... [ILLUSTRATED]
