    Mr. T. W. TUMPKINS, a farmer of Apethorne, Northaptonshire, England, used a Miles, Acrovan aircraft to see 20 acres of flooded and rain-sodden land with wheat. The aircraft which was specially converted for the task, was fitted with hoppers into which sacks of wheat were poured by [?] German p.o.w. The plane flew at a height of 30 feet above the fields and the seed were sprayed out evenly in lanes about 12 yards wide.
