    TAKING CARE OF THE PENCE: Children at the Welland Public School, as in many other public schools, are given every encouragement to learn by means of the Penny Bank, the value of thrift. The composite pictures show—1. Mr. B. Hand, head master displaying the thrift shield to the winning grade. The shield is presented weekly to the grade which banks the most money. 2. Mother gives out the pennies on banking day. 3. Safety First! A little girl ties up her penny in her handkerchief for safe transport to the school. 4. Mr. F. H.
