    The Toowoomba Philharmonic Society, one of the best known choirs in Queensland, will leave on Saturday for Lismore to compete in choral events at that city's annual musical festival. About 100 members of the choir will travel by car to Lismore. The society will compete in four events--the chief choral event, the sacred choral event, ladies' chorus and male chorus. It will be the society's first trip to Lismore, although its male choir competed in last year's festival. The above photograph was taken at the society's rehearsal on Monday night.
