  3. WORLD TENNIS CHAMPION FALLS TO QUIST AT KOOYONG

    DEFEAT OF THE WORLD’S TENNIS CHAMPION by A. Quist (S.A. Davis Cup player) provided a first-class sensation at Kooyong yesterday. Quist, who is shown in action above, defeated F. Perry in the singles tennis championship semi-final, 6-0, 6-2, 6-0. Inset: Perry (left) shaking hands with his successful rival. The Englishman sportingly declared that the result should not be taken to mean that he was off his game, as Quist had played wonderfully.
