    NO MEN WERE PICKED UP FOR WHARF LABORING IN MELBOURNE YESTERDAY, although 1000 men assembled at the pick-up-yard of the Port Phillip Stevedores’ Association in the morning, when the owners’ representative called for night-shift gangs. This call the men ignored. No call for day-shift workers, was made by the owners. This photograph, the first to be reproduced of the pick-up yard, was taken by a staff photographer yesterday morning, and shows the stevedores in little groups discussing the situation. ...
