    LIKE THE HORNS OF ELF—LAND, FAINTLY BLOWING, the strains of marching pipers reached the ears of listeners, high up in the buildings that had thrown long shadows over Flinders-st, yesterday. The players were members of the Australian Scottish Ladies World Tour Pipe Band, which marched down this busy thoroughfare to board the Nairana, for Tasmania. As the band passed by, the observer could not but be deeply impressed by the striding appearance of "the busiest station in the world” rising against the skyline.
