Advertising : 17 wordsSOME OF THE HEADS AND BEAKS of Australian bird life make amusing studies, but the humor of their expressions cannot be properly appreciated until it has been captured and held by the camera. Dr. J. A. Leach, the well-known ornithologist, yesterday gave the following information about these strange heads photographed in Melbourne. (1) The peculiar hard formation on the dome of the cassaway is for breaking through densebush in order to escape quickly; (2) this is the delicate owl, the bird with two-eyed vision.
