Gilbertson, the Mayor of Essendon, who gave the kiddies from district State schools a day out in the Essendon Park. Top: Illimitable food supplies were to be had, thanks to the efforts of the mothers, friends, and teachers, toiled all day to supply the demand for sandwiches, cakes, and other edibles. Centre (left): Cr. Gilbertson was surrounded by smiling faces. Right: They missed the ball, but the ball didn’t miss the stumps.
