    The diagram is a projection in map form of die route of the Centenary race. The track is shown in horizontal forms for convenience, though in reality it descends across the face of the earth diagonally from north to south. The heavy black line indicates the path of the speed course of 11,323 miles, and the dotted line maps out the track of the handicap event. The routes, it will be noted, are shown in small steps, about a quarter of an inch long, each representing approximately 200 miles. Weather conditions which competitors are likely to experience are shown towards the bottom of die chart, and range from disturbed weather to monsoonal, revolving winds and thunderstorms. ...
