    IN 1888 Messrs. Parnell and Dwyer, of the Militia Infant 17, formulated an idea by which an Intermediate Corps between the School Cadets and Militia should be formed, mainly for the benefit of the school boys, who could thus keep up the elementary military training which had been imparted to them, and eventually graduate into the Infantry Battalions. The idea was laid before Sir Fredrick Sargood, who at once saw the benefits of such a Corps, and authority was sought from and immediately granted by the Headquarters Staff for its formation. The ...
