    Above is a photograph taken of the keel of the Port Lytteiton as that vessel lay in dock in Batavia. The picture--marked by one of the workers in the dockyard--now explains itself. Notice the ugly gaping holes in the ship's bottom, and the plugs or wedges of wood in position, where they were placed by the divers in Sydney harbor. The cement plugs have been washed away.
