This bridge supersedes the Advisory Booard's pillar-supported bridge, and a sum of £150,000 will be saved in the cost of construction. The design is the work of the engineer-in-charge (Mr. Bradfield). Two lines of electric railway and a broad roadway for vehicles will cross the bridge. It is not proposed to run tramways over it.
