    It is true that this photograph was taken during W. T. Tilden's great semi-final clash with H. Cochet (France) at Wimbledon; it is also true that Tilden must have wondered concerning his fate, since Cochet beat him 2-6, 4-6, 7-5, 6-4. 6-3; but it is not true that he sought satisfaction through crystal gazing. The photograph merely shows that Tilden poured water over his head between games to cool himself. On the court was a water container with a spherical glass top. ... [ILLUSTRATED]
