    The armored cruiser Goeben, 22,640 tons, 25½ knote. was one of the most powerful ships in the German navy. When the rac oroko out she was in the Mediterranean Sea, but she eseaped to Constantinople and was sold to the Turks. She bombarded Russian Black Sea ports and precipitated the entrance of Turkey into the war, but for some months she has been inactive. She is armed with ten 11-in, guns and other smaller guns.
