  4. A Legend of the Liquor Bill.

    Premier Denham recalls the story, from Homer's "Ilid," of the difficulty in which Paris, the shepherd boy of Mt. Ida, was placed when the goddesses Venus, Minerva, and Juno, left it to him to award the Golden Apple to the fairest. A consequence of the decision was the Trojan war, in which Paris was killed. Mr. "Paris" Denham has been called on to choose between the Venus of the bar and the Minerva of the Wowsers, and was snapshotted by a "Truth" man while in the act of soliloquising on the situation. ...
