    This is one of the best views extant of the 1893 flood in Brisbane. It was tak en from near the old South Brisbane Town Hall. The building on the river front with the turret on top is the fl our mill. The line half way across the river is the southern half of the old Victoria Bridge. The street in the foreground is Stanley-street. Many houses were swirled down past the flour mill, and out into the raging torrent.
