This photograph gives a good idea of the huge crowds which greeted Dr. Mannix in Sydney. The Archbishop is seen at the side of Archbishop Kelly on the occasion of the laying of the foundation-stone of the extension to St. John's College. (Mirror Photos.) These pictures were taken during one of the long vigils of relatives of returned soldiers, who sometimes have to wait for hours for their boys: The top picture relatives sitting on the kerbstone.
