Since the entry of the United States into the war her ships of the Navy and Of the Merchantile Marine have been very successful in disposing of the piratical U-boats. The unamed ship (names are with held for obvious reasons) shown in this picture was attacked by a pirate, but turned in her course (says "Leslie's Weekly") so as to bring her deck guns into action, as one of the U-boat's shattered periscopes shows.
