A remarkable but strictly vouched for alligator story comes from the British SHomon Islands. A native of Gudaleanar, aged 40, and his two sons, aged respectively seven and nine, were travelling in a threeman canoe up the Bokoklmbo River, which flows through the northern end of Guada[?]nar Island. About half a mile from the month of the river, the head of an alligator appeared above the water some 20 yards to front of the canoe. A few seconds later its huge head appeared well over the side ...
