  3. YACHTS LEAVE HARBOUR ON LONG OCEAN RACE TO MONTAGU ISLAND

    Thirteen yachts were last night beating down the coast in the annual 350-mile Montag[?] Island race. The start was off Double Bay at 5 p.m., and the field is expected back at Sydney by Monday evening. A S.S.E. wind of 15 m.p.h. sped the yachts to the Heads in 35 minutes, after which they faced moderate seas and swell. The Weather Bureau said last night the wind was expected to abate during the night and shift towards the north-east to-morrow.
