    A crowd greater than was expected assembled at the Essend [?] aerodrome yesterday to welcome Mr. Alan Cobham and Sergeant Ward at the end of the flight from England to Australia. Although there were barriers and police to regulate the crowd, no sooner had Cobham's machine landed than it was surrounded by people, who threatened to damage it severely. After much trouble the machine was pushed into the hangar, surrounded by members of the Royal Australian Air Force, police, and troopers. Many persons who had fainted in the press were taken into the hangar on the wings and tall of the 'plane. The photograph was taken as the doors of 'the hangar were opened to receive the aeroplane.
