The opening ceremony of the Soldiers' Memorial Hospital at Gumeracha auracted a large assembly last Saturday afternoon, despite threatening weather. Among those present were Sir Joseph and Lady Verco and the Hon. T. Met[?] M.L.C. The building is a neat brick-and-stone structure. with a wide verandah all round. The hospital is on a high foundation at the front, with a fa[?] to the rear, and five or six eteps lead to the entrances. There is accommodation for 10 patients. Sister G. H. Burns, who served four and a half years as a military nurse in Egypt, is the matron. Our composite shows:-—1) The opening ceremony in progress: (2) the mat run presenting a cup to Lieut.
