  2. THE GREAT TRANS-CONTINENTAL AIR RACE

    In the big 2.500 miles air race from Sydney to Perth, which finished last Saturday. Capt. H. C. Miller of South Australia won the £1,000 handicap prize. Major H. De Havilland was second, and Mr. A. T. Cunningham third. A £300 prize for the fastest time in the race was secured by Major De Havilland. Pilot B. Heath gained second place, and Capt. Miller, third honours. The above views show:—I. The Official Starter sending the aeroplanes away from Sydney. 2.
