  2. The Memorial Service at Melbourne Cricket Ground and Unveiling of Statue at Parliament House

    [?] 25,000 men took part in the Memorial Service which was preceded by a march through the City. With the returned heroes went the soldier of to-morrow—the lads of the Citizen Forces and the Senior Cadets. Our top picture shows the dais on which was a representative gathering of military and public men. Our second pieture shows the unveiling by the Prime Minister at Federal Parliament House of the bronze statue representing "The Spirit of War," by Bertram Mackennal. The statue was presented to the Commonwealth by the Australian sculptor. ... [ILLUSTRATED]
