    Early in the war a German airship flew over the French lines and dropped a number of bombs. A French aeroplane went out to attack the enemy, and, after manoeuvring for some time for a closer position, succeeded finally in getting on top. The Frenchman dropped a bomb on the airship, which burst into flame, and the victor, in a tragic ecstasy or owing to temporary loss of control, dashed into the airship, to his own certain death.
