Although the stage seemed set for what we described last week as "a brighter outlook for wool," buyers did not follow up the keen demand that had developed for passed-in lots with the same degree of keenness at the auction sales. Thus a good deal of the advantage established in December was lost, and, although the top price of the season (29d) was paid for Merryville wool last week, it is difficult to be very optimistic about the future.—By "Warp." ...
