  2. HOW LONDON WELCOMED THE PRINCE OF WALES

    The Prince returned from his eight-months' tour in India and Japan on Rose Day (June 22), and many moving and memorable scenes marked his reception. "Nothing to equal the fervour of the Prince's welcome," says one account, "has ever been seen in London. It was a pageant which will live in history." A girl dashing out in Praed-street threw petals to the smiling Prince, and he raised his hand in salute as he drove by with his father, the King, and his brothers.
