'TWAS A GRAND AND GLORIOUS VICTORY.— Yesterday's rich Epsom Handicap was a superb triumph for the visiting New Zealander Autopay, who confounded the popular theory that no horse can win an Epsom from barrier to box. Autopay achieved success in such manner, and when Ticino and Pentheys challenged him a furlong from home, had sufficient steam left in his boilers to fight the issue right out, and win. Tumultuous cheering greeted Autopay and Maurice McCarten when they came back to the enclosure— a sportsmanlike tribute to a, really good borse.
