  8. BLAZING BRITISH STEAMER'S END AT SEA.

    A losing fight with fire at sea was ended by the scutting of the British steamer Ayrshire, 200 miles from Ceylon. Several ships rushed to her aid in response to S.O.S. signals, and her crew were taken off after battling with the flames.
