    Some of a party of I.S Air Force fliers stranded 7.700 ft. up on the Greenland ice cap landing round a glider after the failure of a retrue attempt on Deremher 23 when a big transport plane tried to make a "snatch" pick-up of the glider. The low rope broke as the glider ploughed into deep snow as shoun by the tracks (upper left). The fliers were stranded from December 9 until rescued by a transport plane equipped with take-off rorketc on Tuesday. Five of the party of II were stranded in earlier rescue attempts. ...
