    Prominent among the sources of raw material waiting for an expansion of the ceramic industry in S.A. suggested by the Minister for Mines (Mr. McEwin), are the deposits of kaolin (day) and sillimanite at Mr. Crawford, near Williamstown, about 40 miles north of Adelaide. The deposits already produce about 3,000 tons a year, mainly for Port Pirie smelting furnace linings, but the material available can be used in the production, not only of pottery and furnace linings, but also of paper, paint, rubber, cloth dressing, abrasives, spark plugs and medical goods.
