THE above is & representation of a central portion of St John-street, Launceston. The first building on the left hand side is the Union Bank of Australasia, of which J. T. Sale, is the present local Manager. It was built by Messrs. Galvin Bros, in 1865, at a cost of about £7000, under the superintendence of Mr Harry Conway, architect, of this town, designs by Mr Leonard Terry, of Melbourne. The facade has a massive appearance, the lower story being in the Doric style, and the upper in pure Italian. The internal fittings all in the modern style.
