The meeting condemned Hanlon’s anti-union legislation, contributed £92/4/5 for strike relief and gave three hearty cheers for the strikers. Police took the names of Waterside Workers’ Federal Secretary Jim Healy (here shown addressing the big crowd), and Chris Hutchinson, President of the Ipswich (Qld.) branch of the Boilermakers’ Union.
