    Stripped of its ugly features, the Third Test was as remarkable as the recent Melbourne game for its collapses and recoveries. Australia's bolwers performed sensationally on Friday in dismissing Sutcliffe, Jardine, Hammond and Ames only 30 runs on the board, but the later batsmen made a fine recovery and England's first innings total reached the respectable one of 341.
