From SA Memory:

Until 1862 the circulation of the Sud Australische Zeitung was a tiny 400 issues. In that year George Eimer purchased full ownership of the newspaper from his two partners and amalgamated the newspaper with its only opposition, the Adelaider Deutsche Zeitung. Within just three months circulation soared to 1,500 (Sud Australische Zeitung, 13 March 1863, p. 1).
