THE Askold is the only Russian warship outside the Baltic and the Black Seas. She is here seen being coaled at the Dardanelles, the photograph having been taken from an Australian transport. It will be remembered that in-the early part of the war the Askold had an engagement with a German cruiser (supposed to be the Emden) in the China Sea. The Russian ship was on that occasion reported to have been sunk. ... [ILLUSTRATED]
