Summary
  • The debate over pornography is reaching fairly absurdist levels in certain feminist circles. Catherine McKinnon, for example, has suggested that pornographic rape can be defined as actual rape, an argument that led a male reviewer to pan her book by parodically imagining her violation in his review. Unamused, McKinnon responded by crying that she'd been raped in the book review. Authors Helen Zahavi and Karen Moline have gone to the other extreme by turning their books into obsessive examinations of sex. Neither of their resulting attempts at fiction can be described as worthy of praise.
