Summary
  • AirSoft Inc announces its AirAccess 2.0 software for remote-node communications. AirAccess 2.0 is expected in Jul 1994. A PC-to-PC version will cost $199, and a client/server configuration that comes as a NetWare Loadable Module (NLM) will cost $499, with additional clients will costing $99. MobileWare Corp introduced a similar product, called MobileWare, in June. MobileWare uses store-and-forward messaging for E-mail, faxing and printing. Industry observers say AirAccess 2.0 is superior to both MobileWare and previous remote-node products. With AirAccess 2.0, users can directly access desktop computers or NetWare servers at higher speeds than was previously obtainable. The faster speed is made possible by an innovative communications protocol called AirTransport.
