Summary
  • Irish politician, Martin McGuinness, is deciding whether he should give evidence at the Saville Inquiry into the event known as Bloody Sunday. It has been claimed that McGuinness fired the initial shots which resulted in British Paratroopers killing 14 civilians. The aim of the inquiry is prove the innocence of the victims but the process is revealing uncomfortable facts for both the British and the Republicans. McGuinness was a volatile activist when young but has mellowed as he has got older. Republicans do not believe that McGuinness was responsible for firing the first shots.
