Summary
The port town of Eden in New South Wales, Australia, remained modest in size despite popular beliefs that it would become a large, busy city. Its geographic location made it ideal for a safe harbor and human settlement. However, financial mismanagement of local businesses and lack of roads and railways left social and economic expectations of Eden unfulfilled.
