Summary
  • Engineering Asset Management (EAM) is concerned with the life cycle management of "engineered" physical assets. Accurate prediction of the health of assets is a fundamental scientific research problem for EAM. Standard approaches in condition monitoring are insufficient as serving the demands of modern EAM. A paradigm shift in research directions for CM is needed. This paper discusses new directions for this shift, based on the analysis of modern EAM requirements, existing CM and reliability prediction techniques and models.
