Summary
  • Summary: The Australian Animal Health Laboratory (AAHL) is a national centre of excellence in disease diagnosis, research and policy advice in animal health and is a major facility of CSIRO Livestock Industries. The DVD gives an audience an overview of the research undertaken at AAHL and describes and demonstrates the biocontainment systems in operation at the facility. Dr. Bob Biddle, Australian Deputy Chief Veterinary Officer, and Mike Bond, Director of Programs Animal Health Australia, discuss the importance of AAHL to Australia and its livestock. The DVD includes footage of a range of different animals with exotic diseases, researchers working in laboratories and scientists at AAHL working in airtight 'space suits' in the secure area.
