Summary
  • Image published in 'City of Prahran jubilee history and illustrated handbook: South Yarra, Toorak, Malvern, etc', Melbourne: Periodicals Publishing Company, 1906 p.173. Notes can be located to accompany most of the photos by consulting the indexes at the front of the book; some of these notes are quite detailed, though the tone is usually self-congratulatory, suggesting that inclusion may have been by subscription.
  • [transcript of notes]
  • MR SHINKFIELD
  • Who is the proprietor of the well known Prahran dairy in Wattle Tree Road, has been in business for nearly 11 years, and now supplies milk in Prahran, South Yarra, Toorak and St Kilda. It is his intention to immediately bring his dairy right upto-date with the requirements of the Pure Food Bill. His carts deliver milk direct from the farm to the consumer, and is periodically analysed. Mr Shinkfield guarantees to supply nothing but the very best article that can be obtained.
  • Black and white photoprint of Shinkfield's dairy in Wattle Street. The notes emphasise the cleanliness of his business and refer to the new Pure Food Bill.
