View of shops on south side of Toorak Road, from Davis Street east. On the corner is a ham and beef shop (No. 64, old numbering), then W.J. Barker (house painter and decorator), Maxwell's Committee Rooms etc. The advertisement for the Lyric Theatre dates the photo post-1913 (source: Daniel Catrice 'Cinemas in Melbourne, 1896-1942').
