Summary
Kure, Japan. 1955-01-31. The pay section of HQ British Commonwealth Forces, Korea (BCFK), from time to time, withdraws British Armed Forces Special Vouchers (BAFSV's) from circulation because of their worn condition and destroys them. These vouchers, valued on sterling basis, are used to pay Commonwealth troops. It is illegal to use them for transactions with the Japanese public. Their destruction is supervised by high ranking officers. Shown, the BAFSV's selected for destruction being counted by the Pay Corps Staff. They are being supervised by Major W. Sutton (far rear). Identified personnel are:- 31404 Sergeant (Sgt) G. E. Wilson; WX700164 Sgt P. V. Quealy; Lieutenant P. L. Frienel; Mr K. Michiyama, and Captain J. S. Grosvenor (standing).
