  • A biography of Marcus Clarke, written over a century ago but never before published. The author, brother of the poet Gerard Manley Hopkins, was a close friend of Clarke from their school days in London and they corresponded after Clarke migrated to Melbourne. It is a portrayal of up-country colonial life and Bohemian life in "Marvellous Melbourne".
