He is also a well renowned arranger and pianist, equally well-known for his distinctive singing voice and film scores.He has written hit songs for Cilla Black, Alan Price, Dusty Springfield, Gene Pitney, Joe Cocker, Eric Burdon, Nina Simone, Three Dog Night and many others.
