The Safe Schools Coalition Australia is a national and voluntary coalition of organisations and schools, convened by the Foundation for Young Australians. The Coalition produces numerous resources and guidelines that can be used by schools to reduce homophobic and transphobic behaviour and intersex prejudice and increase support for same sex attracted, intersex and gender diverse students, school staff and families. On the 26 February 2016, the Australian Government commissioned an independent review of current resources. This report presents the findings of that review. It investigates whether the resources are consistent with the intent and objectives of the programme, suitable and robust, age appropriate, and educationally sound. It also examines the extent to which parents and school communities are consulted about the use of these resources and the adequacy of such consultation. [Libraries Australia]
